Chicago born and raised, California shaped and Kansas City tempered, i graduated from San Diego State University with a minor degree in Fine Arts. I studied with Harry Friedman in Kansas City (a premier portrait painter and teacher) and took additional courses at the Kansas City Art Institute.
An artistic thread sews the pages of my experiences together - always present, this energy emerges as a passion to create images that capture the spirit of the moment and tell a story worth hearing/seeing. I try to capture the personality of the subject and explore it's color with a spiritual touch.

I enjoy using different mediums, such as oil on canvas and wood, acrylics, clay, collage and leaded glass to best represent the spirit of that specific moment in time.

Thanks to an art teacher in San Francisco, I see color, hues, highlights and value in everything I observe. I always consider how I might best represent these magnificent images in my paintings.
